Off Kilter

I’m nervous about tonight and I think it’s because we haven’t done this in a while (2 weeks). I think it’ll be awesome, but I really want it to be awesome, so it makes me nervous…I’m not sure if that makes sense. Lent is a big kickoff, it’s a season where people are more focused on their faith, on their spiritual life and I want to make sure we guide the students of this community along the right path.
It’s going to be interesting to see who comes back because when you don’t do something in a while it gets hard to get started up. I know that’s how I’ve felt about my running. With the snow, I haven’t run for 2 weeks, my back is hurting, I feel out of it and it’s because my whole system is knocked off. When I don’t run, I eat poorly, I sleep poorly, I don’t do any of my other exercises. But it’s good that I recognize that, because I recognize that running is one of the core values of my health. The core value of my spiritual health? It’s definitely corporate worship. As an extrovert I feel alive when I’m surrounded by others, when I worship in a large group setting I feel on fire. How to make that happen continuously can be a challenge, but I know it’s important to have a core value…because without, things can seem off kilter.
